two vehicle specific forums i go to have posted threads about Wix and fram mainly Wix causing oil pressure loss,and engine damage.

I had a Fram filter collapse once and I knew several people that had the same problem.

I had a Fram blow out the rubber gasket where it seals to the block while tooling down the interstate at 75mph.

So they were blowing the gasket? Ive never heard of this and Ive run a whole lot of Wix including a company fleet. Sounds like they didnt get the filter tight enough to me.

Very common to blow the gasket if the old gasket is not removed. This applies to any brand filter.
