Any else beside me taking a hit right now (expected it to happen)? The VIX is still super high ; but it has come down from this morning (up 28% now; but down from 33% increase this morning). We just need to see some support bounces now to settle things down a little. On the bright side, I did buy some stock this morning that is way down and playing the long game.

I honestly don't see us near the bottom yet. Once tariff effects start to influence consumer prices, we're going to drop again. I have had three vendors email about price increases due to tariff induced raw material price increases. Real or perceived, the prices going up are going to stifle the economy.

Tariffs are something that need to be straighten out. We have been paying out the *** to other countries and it's time to make it a level playing field. America need to become a more of a producing country. ​

the bottom? . Heck if it drops 5% pct people go crazy. All they know now is gains gains gains.

The Dow ? Since the 1890’s - 135 years.

50years ago, it was barely breaking 1,000.
25 years ago The Dow reached 10,000
To then double to 20,000, it only took another 10

But now just 7 years to double to almost 40,000? Insanity.

Moved most of my investments into more stable funds and bonds until there is less volatility in the US market.
Made some good gains from the high growth US based index funds over the years, but don't have time in the market to wait out an extended recovery cycle.
I wish you all well in finding those stocks which benefit from the import taxes, but I will simply wait on the sideline until the outlook is clearer.

But yeah, the time to buy is when everyone is selling.

Here's the 4D chess theory. President enacts tariffs. Market goes down in reaction. Economy suffers. Fed lowers interest rates. All of the debt we have coming due gets refinanced at a lower rate.

Not sure if he's that smart or not but it's going to wreck us in the midterms. Republicans don't turn out for midterm elections. If we lose either house it will be nothing but impeachments, etc. moving forward.
