Tats, sleeves, socks, why the whole body covering attraction

I don’t get it. I don’t care if others get tats but I simply don’t get it. (Well I do care if my kids get them when they are under my roof and my care). There are billions of outstanding people much better and smarter than I with tats but they just don’t look good to me on young people and they look horrible on old people. Tats don’t seem to age well. By the way....I’m old.

I've always heard once you get a tat, you're marked for life-meaning easily identified.

Interactions with cops are........different if you have visible tats, especially prison tats.

As a buddy of mine said, visible tats close a lot of doors in your life that otherwise would have been open to you.

I love how folks can pay for tats but can't pay rent.

I had a tenant once that couldn't afford to pay entire rent one month. Stopped by and noticed he had a new set of rims on his car. Interesting, I asked him about it and how much they cost because they look great. He had the stupidity to tell me how much. Way more than his rent was. I said funny how you can buy rims to get the p-$$y but can't afford rent. ( know what you're thinking. He was a white guy too - recently divorced)

That was the last time he pulled the "I don't have all the rent BS" with me.

I have 5 different fairly large pieces and want another soon. My wife has about the same. We have two kids and are what you would probably consider a typical American family. Where we live, in town, we are not unusual, nor are tattoos.

As to why some may get tattoos while disregarding more important financial obligations. I’ve seen many do the same with alcohol, tobacco, firearms (no way, not here on the ODT), etc. Why the whole aftermarket automotive industry is built on poor financial decision making. Let’s not let that be the determining factor.

And remember, it’s not like tattoos last forever. 70-80 years is probably the most you will have live with it...

my favorite is the folks who ae covered in tats but are constantly broke yet will stop drop 350 bucks on a ****ty piece of skin art

im all about someone having one or a few, if they mean something i guess.

i kinda like the idea of not having identifying marks. first thing they did in basic training (and i hear prison) is document your tattoos. better than a social security number to the gov in alot of ways

All joking aside though, I have a few. All have deep personal meaning. I don't mind them on other folks if they can afford them and aren't putting tats over other more important things. Oh, and I'm not cool with anything face/neck, or on the hands. If you're going to get one, make sure it can be covered up with clothing. You can't see any of mine when I'm at work.

I have some that have meaning, some that do not. Hell I have one I got just to piss off my wife. I don't really give them a second thought.
