taurus tcp?

But those are not what I think were in the same category ,deep concealment. Then again I am happy enough with the Taurus that I can't really recommend a larger frame for reliability reasons either.

Ken- how old is your tcp? Is it one of the newer ones or older?

I had a TCP, I hated it... Maybe it was just mine, but I had many failures and I really wanted the slide to lock after the last round.... Which even the LCP doesn't have... I have a bodyguard 380 and I love it. No failures so far, slide locks after last round and I am able to hit paper at 25 yards which seemed pointless with my TCP..

Had a TCP. Took it to the range and it shot fine. Took it home, went to pull the takedown pin out and COULDN'T. By the time I finally got it pried out the head had chipped and it had take a chip out of the knife I had to use to pry it out. The pin had bent inside the gun. I called Taurus and the rude, apathetic customer "service" guy boredly asked my shipping info and told me they'd ship one out. I can only assume from his lack of surprise and total disinterest that he was used to the problem. I got the part in, sold the gun and have never looked back.

For the category, I'll stick with the KelTec P3AT. Even though I had one that was a dog, my current one if outstanding. And I REALLY love having a Mic holster on it. I feel confident dropping it in a pocket, the wife's purse or any old place I need it to travel.

As for a Glock 42...uhh, right. If you want a gun THAT big, just get a Kahr and go with 40 S&W. Same for the Shields. Kahr does it better and in a smaller package.

I've got one and could not be happier! I was working at a gun store at the time and could pick any, I bought the TCP for cost and the holster and extra mag that came with it.

NO jams at all even during "break in" It is by far the most accurate and dependable "mouse gun" on the market today!
Only close comparison , for reliability out if the box, is the LCP, but it is no where near as accurate.
Diamond back sucks ass and the Sig (I usually love Sigs) is not designed for deep concealment. NO WAY I would carry a cocked and locked gun in my pants pocket.
I am going to buy a few more TCPs to arm my wife and children as they get old enough.

Best pocket .380, better than the lcp and the bodyguard(the older one at least). I've put about 500 rounds through it without a single issue.

My wife (ok me to on occasions) carries the tcp. I personally like it for the concealment purpose. But not the most comfortable shooter in my opinion. But I have no plans to get rid of it, if that says anything.

From what I've gathered, they greatly improved the TCPs a year or two ago. The early ones were like a lot of taurus products....hit or miss. Now it seems that they are pretty much a hit. All professional reviews are high on them and I can't really find folks who have had problems with a new one. I say get it!

My daughter in law had a TCP several years ago that was a total P.O.S.

The gun either stovepiped or failed to feed every round. The take down pin was a ***** to get out then when you released the slide it would jam and it took a rubber mallet with a little persuasion at the muzzle to break it free. Putting it back together was no walk in the park either.

I called Taurus and demanded that they pay the return shipping charges for repairs. The lady on the phone was polite and sent me a pre paid Fed Ex label via Email. I received the gun back exactly one week from the day I sent it in and it functioned 100% at the range after repairs.

The repair letter said they replaced the out of spec barrel, the extractor and both magazines for updated magazines.

She sold the gun and replaced it with an XDS 9. She loves the Springfield and said she never trusted the TCP after all the trouble she had with it in the beginning.
