I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good taxidermist near Cherokee county? Specifically for deer mounts and a bear skin rug. Thanks a bunch!

In my opinion, the absolute best taxidermist in Georgia, and probably anywhere, is Darrell McMicken in Cartersville, d/b/a McMicken Taxidermy. He's a second-generation taxidermist, and you can see examples of his work at the studio in Cartersville.

Website is http://www.mcmickentaxidermy.com/ and his contact info is: 5531 Highway 20, Cartersville, GA 30120, Phone 770-382-6232.

Be sure to ask for a tour of his personal trophy room (attached to the studio) and see the hundreds of species he and his father collected over the years.

Darrell is a down-to-earth, straight-talking guy who does superior work at reasonable prices. Give him a call, and tell him Pat sent you.

X2!!! Used to hunt in Bartow county and would always stop by and see what they were working on!! The nicest group of people there!
