Temp rises at highway speeds

Umm isn't 70 the max speed in GA? So he slows down to 70? Yeah OK......

there is one other thing that comes to mind, a water pump that is 13 years old could have significant erosion on the impeller blades which would result in lost capacity.

Now AC Delco water pump put on this past November when he flushed and changed antifreeze.

at highway speed, fan usually is not running on most vehicles with a clutched fan.

Did anyone wash out the ac condenser coil, and do the radiator too even though its newer.

Also whoever filled the system are they sure all the air is out of the system ?

Id suspect bad stat or lower hose as has been suggested if the rest of this is ok.

Thermostat was replaced (Stant) after it onerhueated. Could be bad though.

Did he find a "problem" when performing the maintenance that would of caused the original overheating?

The radiator puke jug cracked and let coolant drain low. That's what caused the original overheat.

Do a gas test for the head gasket, I had a similar problem a few years back. I would have sworn that there was no way the head gasket was the problem....gas leak test proved me wrong. You can buy the kit at NAPA

220 degrees isn't really that hot for newer engines, I'd expect slightly higher temps at higher RPMs.

i like to use a couple gm tabs in my truck when i flush the fluid

also you could try running a little water wetter

but you should probably do a head gasket test 1st
before spending any money on additives

Yeah me too. I figure if I got too get where I'm going that fast I will just leave a little sooner. Those little old blue haired ladies driving a big ole car that they can't even see oner the steering wheel scare me. All you see is blue hair and white boney knuckles.
