What am I looking at (getting diesel back up and going)

Because of some serious health issues in 2022 and 2023; my 2003 F-250 Power stroke has not been cranked and driven since spring 2022. I know batteries are dead and I'd figure the loss o f voltage fried the FICM... what else should I expect when I have it towed to a diesel shop? I may just sell the thing since I can't climb up in it anymore anyway.

I believe put a battery charger on those batteries and see what happened. I wouldn't be surprised if it cranked right up and ran.

The gold show guys fire up diesel generators all the time after sitting all winter in Alaska and the Yukon. I wouldn't be as pessimistic about diesel compared to gas with ethanol. Hopefully you'll get lucky with new batteries, check the fuel in the filter when changing and observe the condition, replace oil, proper prime and fire it up.

This right here. I’ve cranked diesel engines after sitting 5-6 years. You’ll be surprised

All it probably needs is 2 hot batteries.
Cycle the glow plugs a couple of times then try to start it.
It will likely smoke and clatter for the first few minutes, but it will be fine.

fuel condition would be my concern. did you put some kind of fuel conditioner in the tank while it sat ?
