Thank you all, for kind words and support.
The hospice was totally unprofessional and uncaring to the point that when his time came, they told us it would be 2 hours before someone could come. He was gasping, and having a very tough time, the EMTs that were called(with the Fire and Rescue) was strapping him up to actually put him on the truck when an Ambulance came and took over...the hospice never showed. Unbelievable.
His wife was so emotional throughout the whole funeral, she lost conscience 4 times. I've never actually experienced that with someone before (passing out from emotion). We had smelling salts given to us from the Dr. at the hospital because she done the same thing there. She would lay on his casket and wail.....it was very sad. Very emotional. She isn't a large woman, but when she passed out she was like putty....I caught her twice and sat her up in a chair with others help. When you aren't prepared for it(and even when you are) it is very difficult. I'm not that fit, but I am a big guy. People who know me know I have Ortho issues too, at times I was the only one available. Felt like I had to be next to her all the time for her to hang on, so I was. I would do it again with no question too.
After the funeral, we went back to their house where everyone gathered. The church brought a great deal of food, and served everyone and cleaned up too. Very kind of them.
My wife went back y.day to take her back to the cometary to see the stone. I was surprised it was ready and placed. But it was. Very nice, with a large badge imprint. We also had a fifteen motorcycle police brigade escort us to the cemetary(44 miles) from the funeral home. It was a sight.

Thanks again folks....

Very sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is extremely difficult. My prayers are with you and your family. A song that I hold tightly to during times like this, times of loss, is one that I'm sure we're all familiar with from two of Georgia's own.
