The Forever Rifle: rOm's Scout Rifle

Back in the 90s I put together a .444 Marlin Guide Gun with the Ashley Ghost Ring, Front Post, and Scout Rail with the little 2.5 Leupold Scout Scope.

It is one that will never be sold or traded.

Cooper's concept is as handy as a shirt pocket.

Scope on a lever action should be a court martial, right there.

So this thread nudged me to finally set up the scout scope I'd bought. And....hate it, R95 is such a small/handy rifle, the 2-7x scout is ungainly as hell on it. Might have to find a 2x Burris pistol scope to put on it scout style, that should scale to the rifle a lot better.

Agreed on the Vortex 2-7, I have one on a Marlin and am going to change it out when I find something else

Except that Cooper eventually said the lever rifle wasn't the concept. He moved to box fed, bolt operated. But as someone who built a scout concept of a lever action rifle, I get it.

Indeed they are - in 300BLK and 223, using STANAG mags
