The Gun Run, Clinton House, SC, June 13th, 2020

Wow, what a course. Thanks for linking that Burdy. That was the most well written blog post I've read in some time. I felt like I was there sharing your frustrations and hindsight. I shot a sniper course and had some of the same, getting lost on my round count, not confrining zeros before going l, and so on. I'm gonna get to work to get in shape for the team one. Have you shot one before? I assume the team moves together for every stage?

Is there a place I can go to ask questions?

I got 2nd start spot. Good in that it’s early, so heat won’t be an issue. Bad in no wait times at stages. Those breathers really help if you get them.

I've never shot a team one but will be in November. I would certainly assume you both have to be together at every stage and the finish but not 100% sure all the details.

How does one decide how much ammo to bring? Pistol and rifle?

Generally you see 2-3x the round count depending on how confident someone is, anticipated distances, etc. My thoughts are I'd bring 3x 30rd AR mags or 2x 30s and a 20 in case you needed to get the gun low on a stage, which would be 80-90 rounds. For a pistol I'd look at 3-4x 20rd pistol mags, probably 4x just to have the extra magazine loaded instead of having to jam mags on the run.

Your links are the guide I used to run my first one. Good stuff. Always good to learn from an actual winner.

Nah, I’ll be done before you start.
I know. You've told me some of your run times and I can't compete with that. I just hope the guy directly behind you is slow enough I can catch him in the later stages for a break.
