Soo...Dale Jr. Picks #8 ...duh...Derby Winner
Looking forward to making my three picks tomorrow from my local shops spring allocated bourbon event. I get one selection from the top row, one pick from the 2nd or 3rd row and one pick from the bottom two rows. I'm crossing my fingers I can snag the Pappy 15 but the person ahead of me I think is going to pounce on it. Thoughts as to the best option if Pappy is off the board when I pick?
WLW and GTS are as good as Pappy 15.

I've heard the same on WLW and GTS. Never have had them as they are always priced to the moon when sold by themselves.
I signed up with the shops points system they created a little over a year ago. You get a point per dollar and then they will offer you bonus points (b/w 20 and 50pts per bottle) if you choose to buy store picks or other bottles they got tons of from the distributors and such.
All in all, the owners said they received a little over 300 bottles for this event. I'll be fascinated to see how many people show up for this.
The Willet purple tops, and Elijah Craig 18 year would be my first picks. Then maybe some of the rare Weller bottles. bottle that is. I love their stuff.
I've always heard good things about the Willet purple tops. For now, I'm leaning to the Weller CYPB or Weller Single Barrel bottles as second choice. Just got to see how the cards play out after the first two people make all their picks. Lol.
