I have to agree with @Gixxer here.
Having grown up in the Northeast (yeah, I'm a yankee), we didn't have "white neighborhoods" and "black neighborhoods". There were black, but also Italian, Polish, German, Irish, etc.
I would have been just as nervous in any of those if I came across a group of locals giving off the certain vibe.
I've never gone thru a Jewish neighborhood, but I know they exist. I would have had the same reaction there as anywhere else. Doesn't matter if the local yutes were wearing an afro or yarmulkes. The same feeling is possible.

Yeah there are a lot of fked up ****ty white people too. Most of them ain't Jewish
