Timber Value...

Anyone in middle GA sold timber lately.

I’m wondering what the ballpark value of around 50 acres of mature hardwoods (hickory, various oaks, maples, sweetgums-20% pine) might be worth.

I know there are some variables, but anyone got a very general idea?

hire a forester (NOT a arborist. but a certified forester) to do a survey to see what its worth. there are sooooooo many factors involved in pricing a cut lol. biggest one is how far you are from a mill that will take the wood on your land lol.

my dad was a forester for years and i used to survey timber with him as a young adult. its how i learned to walk a straight line in the woods lol.
