Deputy Stephen D’Angelo responded to 3200 block of Hamilton Road and found Caldwell sitting in his carport, according to the release.
Officials said Caldwell had an AK47-style pistol, which he reportedly fired twice at the deputy. D’Angelo allegedly shot at the man four times and struck him twice, officials said.
