first off 99% of the homes don't need pest control..

Second it's about to to be ant season, Ants are the #1 pest in GA...

And ant season is TERMIDOR season.. Termidor was first used as a termiticide but we found it kills the crap out of ants and lasts several months..

So here is what you do go online or to a do it yourself Pest control store and buy some, next buy a 1 gal sprayer if you do not already have one..

Add 1oz of termidor to 1 gal of water and mix..

treat the whole perimeter of your home one or two times if you like.. Unless we get a lot of hard rain this will last up to 4 to 6 months.

As a former PC tech I could only apply 2 twice a year as home owner I do three times a year..

I do not treat any other part of my home with anything else including the inside..

As a home owner you can buy Termidor, but always remember this is bad stuff be careful read directions.
DO NOT USED TERMIDOR INSIDE!!!..
And fire your PC guy you don't need him for anything other then termite bonds and treatments. I did PC for a,most 20 years and like I said most homes did not need it.

If you feel you must have them do exterior only treatments you don't need that crap in your home..The only exceptions are attics and crawl spaces... for attics Niban bait and for crawls dust with insecticidal dust.

If there are any PC guys on here sorry to step on your toes...

Question for you. What can be done to a property where the black ants keep getting into the contact pad of an HVAC unit? We've irradicated & treated (heavy spot treatment plus general yard/grounds treatment) but they will not give up. Been through 4 contactors in that unit in just the last year alone and it ain't cheap! They eat the wiring, etc.

PS: Hvac unit is on a raised platform about 8' off the ground. Youd think it would be easy to treat their ingress/egress routes but they will do anything an everything in their power to get to that hvac unit...its like they can smell it & can not give up the fight. They've resorted to climbing OVER the house now for access to wiring to get to the unit...I think I even saw a few parachuting in. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What about this stuff?

OP,
What's your opinion on termite bonds? I've carried one on my house forever, but I just let it lapse this year. The guy did nothing to treat the house.. Just more or less an insurance policy... Fiber cement siding and stacked stone exterior... Very little exposed wood. Just curious..
