time for some free Pest control advice..

Great advice, Swampbuck, thanks!

Biggest reason for a termite bond is to sell your house.
Many buyers and mortgage companies won't deal on a house that doesn't have a bond.
The annual fee isn't that much to keep up, compared to getting a new bond later.

In-laws got termites due to some improperly installed siding.
What the bond covered: demolition to expose termites; spraying to kill them; structural repairs (framing, joists, beams).
Not covered: "cosmetic" work, i.e. reinstalling: insulation, siding, sheet rock, molding, painting, garage door, door opener.
Didn't cover it all, but paid half of a $7,000 repair. It did take the sting out of that mess.

I've heard that fire ants kill termites, any truth to that?

from what i have heard and seen the ants will build a mound near a termite home underground and will take the termite larvae to the ant hill as food, once i dug up around a termite hill and witnessed the larvae theft

but it could be a coincidence and i could be wrong as i am not in the pest control business unless you include eliminating tree rodents with projectiles
