Tornado shelter??

Same company has shelters that can go in a garage. Might double as a gun safe.

There’s never been a tornado in my area that would pose much risk to a fairly solid house. Doesn’t seem worth it.

Tornados ain’t nothing to play with… I used to just pawn off the storm **** but after firsthand experience on two different tornadoes, I’m VERY cautious now.

They do sound like a double set of freight trains and the atmosphere pressure changes while making the hairs on your body feel static!

I read about a guy years ago who's property was on the side of a hill. He bought a large, concreate septic tank and buried in the side of the hill for his family's storm shelter.

I lived in Texas a few years and wish I had one there. an EF3 destroyed my office, luckily 3 days after I had put in notice to quit so it was no big deal. All my stuff was already at home. I heard it, too.

Here in GA I'm honestly much less worried about them. We don't have the great expanses of flat space that really let them get hog wild. I'm in new(ish) construction that I believe would do fine enough in anything we regularly get here.

I've thought about it as well. I have had more close calls in the last few years than I have in 42 years before that. And yeah lots of good info out there about how it's shifting East in to Dixie Alley. Thankfully, Bama and MS seem to get the brunt of it more than GA does, but what scares me is the prevalence of nocturnal tornadoes we get here.
