Trying to settle a gun debate between me and my girlfriends father!

Debating with your girlfriends father? No chance in winning anyway, give up.
If he wants to buy her a revolver let him. I don't see any reason she can't have more than one gun as long as she practices with each.
Girlfriend, not wife. Father trumps boyfriend. Husband would have more of a say in this situation. Maybe you let dad handle the gun and you work on that ring son!

Sounds like the old man is stuck in the traditional narrow minded way of thinking that women are too simple minded to handle semi auto weapons just as well as men. It makes no sense to me why men believe this way. Women are way better multi taskers than men. Why would anybody believe they can't figure out the workings of a semi auto? She already shoots a G19 and loves it. The debate is settled unless her father is paying for it. If he is, let him buy her a revolver and you can get her a G19. She is a grown adult and can decide for herself which one she prefers.
i went through this with my father in law, except there was no debate. When someone is buying you something and they don't ask you which you'd prefer, you get what you get. He ended up buying a Taurus ultra lite .38 special. Great shooter, but not at all what I would want my wife to carry. Not to mention I ended up sending it back to Taurus twice.
Let him buy her a revolver if he wants to.
