Used gun headaches, nightmares and frustrations

I have a Henry .22 lever that is smooth and flawless and I had a Henry .357 and .44 big boy steel that were also smooth and flawless. Apparently it’s just the brass receiver castings that can be problematic. They either work well or they don’t…it’s a crap shoot according to the internet research from the time. It was a gorgeous rifle, just finicky and frustrating to shoot. I only have the Henry .22 today but it’s another favorite.
Good to know. I do like the Henry

I've largely been very fortunate with my ODT/Armslist acquisitions, and the exceptions have been pretty minor (I actually had to think a minute on this, thankfully nothing sprang immediately to mind).
I did have some ejection issues with a CZ75 once, years ago, (yeah, surprised me,too) . But I called CZ, and they covered shipping, and fixed me right up, so that was pretty painless.
Anything else that I can think of, is too minimal to justify a rant. As I said,I guess I've been fortunate.

Bought a RRA AR off here that had some sorta putty holding the gas system to the barrel.

Looked back and the seller about month before posted issues with it but said he changed the gas Block and it was fixed, he didn't and it wasn't.

I traded into a Special Weapons mp5 clone from a guy. Wouldn’t cycle well, hang fires, etc etc. Turns out he had used it as a host for his full-auto trigger pack. He traded it to me when it was ragged out but I didn’t know better. I learned right much about roller locks and MP5’s over the next year and finally got her working like she should. I was pretty proud after it was all done but oh man what an expensive and frustrating journey.

Kept her for a few years after that until I finally got a real HK one. The guy who bought it from me still has it with no issues outside of normal wear parts.
