Vitamin B12 shots - What the heck someone might know

Do some research online. You can purchase the b12 online and the get your Dr to write u a prescription for the hypodermics, then give yourself the shots. Some guys I used to work out with back in the day would inject b12 along with the performance enhancing substances.
*I am in no way a doctor and and I am not giving medical advice. Just relaying some info.*

My MIL gave herself injections of B12. I have no idea where she got the stuff or the needles. This was during the late seventies and early eighties; so things were probably a lot different back then.

i had to give them to myself for awhile, popular belief is that it needs to be injected intramuscular. I did some research and it doesn't. You can use an incilin syringe which is a lot less painful than a big needle in your thigh

If you're B12 anemic, the shots are the only way to go.

I'm on a weekly regimen.

Same. It is a red liquid, comes in a bottle. I shoot my self weekly. It is cheap. It works great too, stings for an hour or so but you will feel great once it builds up in your system.

So what's the benefit of the B12 shots? What are the symptoms of a B12 deficiency?

Fatigue was my big symptom. I would come home and feel like I had been working out nonstop all day long. I had nothing left by the end of the day. I went to the doctor they ran my blood and my B12 level was very low. The shots have since got it back to normal levels. I have no idea what caused or causes it. Just lucky I guess.

If you actually have pernicious anemia the injections are the only way to go. It isn't from a lack of intake of B12, but an inability of the body to digest it. Taking B12 pills would do nothing for pernicious anemia and you would piss out the vitamins.

Its an autoimmune reaction where your body doesn't have the intrinsic factor available to digest the B12 and transport it into the blood stream. you end up just urinating it out instead of absorbing it. That is why it has to skip the GI tract and be injected.

I know I'm late to the party but you can buy B12 in 250 cc bottles at most any farm supply place (Ladd's in Bartow) for about 15 bucks. They sell syringes there too. If it's good enough for show horses its probably good enough for you or me.

Picked up my needles and "junk" aka B12 a couple of days ago. Easy quick shot to the thigh muscle. Now I have to find out if the stuff they sell in the farm supply is the same grade and save some money.

Canada Drugs is the way to go.

Thanks for the info guys
