WD 40 Introduced in 1964

Acetone is good for cleaning metal parts but don't get it on plastic.

WD40 is great for what is was designed for. However, as mentioned in several threads, it is probably the oldest product still on the market. There are several newer products that will penetrate rusty metal better but none that I would trust to spray in my distributor cap when I get flooded out, lol. I had to do this once and it really works.

In for secret recipe

50/50 atf-n-acetone (gasoline works pretty good also)after kroil oil its probably the
best rust penetrate and it is super cheap

*everybody knows that if you got a stuck motor due to rust in the cylinders
you can pour some atf in the cylinders and let it sit,you can also use diesel.
but the old timers would mix atf and gas 50/50 pour it in and set it on fire
and let it burn out and let me tell you that stuff really works when all else
fails

But can you pour ATF on an electrical motor and expect it to work? ATF was not designed to work with electrical components. WD40 was.

i wouldnt spray wd-40 on an electrical motor either-silicone spray

*i dont think wd40 sux or anything and if i see some on sell i might
pick up a can,but its just a little too expensive and everything adds
up
