Well, it's about F***ing time!

Killed my first buck today using my Remington 700 VTR .308. Pretty easy shot. Good little 7 pointer. He actually suprised me because I was not expecting him to come in from the direction he walked in. I had seen alot of deer in the hardwood bottom about 80-90 yards away that I can see from my stand but this guy came in right under my feet from a thick area (which makes sense being that he is a buck) and I shot him about 15-17 yards away and he got 2 steps and feel like a bag of rocks. Really happy that I finally got something to show for all my hard work in the woods. He was a good 130-135lbs field dressed. Not bad for my first one!

Thanks guys, I'm definitely hooked now. I hunted all last year with no luck. This year, up to today, I saw alot of deer but never had a shot at them with a bow or ML. Today changed all that.

It was kinda funny because I was texting Bear44, telling him that I had had deer around me before shooting light and as soon as I put my phone back in my hoody pocket this guy walked in. He was dead 30 seconds after I spotted him. He walked in from my 2 o'clock almost right under me, then came around to my 10 o'clock, he stood next to a tree, I had my gun up, he stepped out and BOOM. Dead deer with one shot. He only got like 2-3 yards and dropped.

He was my birthday deer.
