Sweet! I had over 900 skydives, 52 BASE jumps but never got the chance to eject from a plane.
He sure did stick around for being shot down... I would have hit a freaking treeline pronto....
Great flying. Establish a good glide towards an open field then pull back on the nose to dump all the speed and get a little extra altitude before popping out.

I’m guessing that was not the most enjoyable thing that he’s ever done.
First thing I would have done on hitting the ground would be gather up that chute and hide it. Let the late comers think you died in the wreck.
A good friend of mine had this happen to him while he was flying a Crusader. It's a long read but amazing that he lived to tell about it!
