What are we wrenching on this weekend?

Actually I have two. Aircraft number two is just ready for the paint booth. When everything is working as advertised. I walk across the street and load up in aircraft number one and fly to the Atlanta Speedway airport and spend the day working on aircraft number two, and flying back at the end of the day.

Alright it's yucky outside and rifle season doesn't start until next weekend. What are you guys working on right now? I'm in various stages of working on my pontiac and dodge.

My first guess was Olds which is close. No cars to work on this weekend but I will be swapping a new SLR rifle works handguard on my 6.5 Creedmoor AR-10 and doing some trigger work. Also getting my 6.5 PRC reloading dies so that might come into play as well.

I kind of wish I still lived in Acworth. I wouldn't mind coming over and doing some wrenching on your ride. I miss it. Seems like all my days as a mechanic building everybody else's cars took all my time.

My friend who was a Corrections officer in Gwenette roped me into building 3 Camaros for him in one year. He just couldn't keep them out of the ditch. 🤣🤣🤣

We drove all the way to Virginia up here around where I live to pick up one of the Camaros. It had nothing in it. And when I mean nothing I mean nothing. When we went to winch the the roller up on the trailer we had to steer it by moving the tires by hand. It didn't even have a dashboard. Where to take every single piece off of his wrecked car and put on that roller. You talking about a piece of work. That's like a unibody going down the assembly line and having every piece and part put on it by hand. It took us a week or so but we did it. After I got done with that when I told him it was the last one I'm doing. And I meant it!

I ask the wrong person the first time. So I ask again what kind of goodies do you have in that pump house under the hood. Or should I say between shock towers. LOL.

At lease tell me there is a set of factory HP heads, a small cam for some music out the pipe and some other bullet proof upgrades. When you take an engine out like that to put it back in withr hd same power as the OEM rating is a serious breech of the Automotive Trust Association.

With today's technology and the accuracy of air fuel gauges and devices tuning an engine with performance upgrades as a breeze on those old ones. To put back a engine back in with a stock cam goes against every fiber of my being. I'm not saying to put a circle track or a quarter mile came in but something like a crane Cam's thumper. Thoae cams give your engine a beautiful sound not to mention the horsepower and some serious torque advantages. The engine was still remain the same OEM parts because you can always change the camshaft back.
