What do you know about Tisas?

The Brownings are definitely better from a build viewpoint... The BR-9s are investment cast frames and slides versus forged and milled, and I'm sure there are MIM parts as well. Also, the 'blued' guns aren't blued, they are Cerakoted. There's actually a pretty decent article about them in American Rifleman this month.

As the OP mentioned, these aren't guns you would go to war with, but why would you do that today even with a real HP? These are range guns for the folks who don't want to spend $900+ that the last of the Brownings are going for.

BTW, if you do want a real HP for about the same money, there's a slew of old milsurp ones on Gunbroker right now. They are all from Mach1Arsenal, who I bought my surplus High Power from a few years back. Looks like they are running about $475 depending on condition.

These are a good option but the guns are in pretty rough shape. They are perfectly functional (from my sample size of 1) but all the ones I saw listed seemed to have a significant amount of wear and tear.

My Tisas review.

I have around 1k rounds through it. I swapped in a FEG extended safety and a spur hammer and matching sear. I’d highly recommend one of these. I have a couple Browning’s but for a range toy, this Tisas is hard to beat. My only real complaint is the proprietary sight cuts. No one is making sights for it that I know of ..yet.

Thanks for the review. Good stuff.
