What have you been doing at the bench today?

Making 351 WSL brass out of 357 maximum brass.

Start by cutting them off .215
De burr & chamfer
Turn the rim down .30
Then cut a slight relief above the rim.
Size and load normally.

Yeah, I’m a member of that site also.
I tried the 223 brass. My extractor wouldn’t consistently pull the fired brass out of the chamber, causing it to jam.

I completed prepping another 110 cases of .223. I have over 400 cases prepped and ready to go. I just my 250 count 69gr. pills from RMR today. Tomorrow I will work up a few with different powders and test Monday morning. It suppose to be in the low 60's in the morning so I can stomach that.

Declines for reps. Sorry wrong bench 41D62413-7EBD-4355-8C55-7A45B8BB0DA0.jpeg

I don’t load this caliber and if you have to make brass out of .357 maximum I’m pretty glad I don’t. Reminds me of trying to source brass for the .218 bee.

A guy I work with happen to have 100 new 357 max brass he bought for a TC years ago but never loaded. Got em for a song.
Won’t get that lucky again.

Did ya use 32-20 brass to make the 218’s ?

I also load 32-20 for a Colt revolver and that brass is getting scarce now too.

And now the finished product.
It was pretty labor intensive, but well worth it since this ammo is hard to find and very spendy when ya do.
I loaded 100 rounds using Hawk 180 gr jacketed soft nose and Buffalo Arms 180 gr cast w/gas check.
Should be running 1750 fps’ish.
Very pleased with how they turned out.
I shot a couple checking function and to check pressure signs. All looks good.
