What have you reloaded today?

I am interested in which recipe you are using for 20 ga and Unique powder.
AA hulls and Claybuster wads were problematic for me with Unique.

Thanks,

I’m out of town right now, but I’m almost positive this is accurate. And it’s published data from Hodgdon.

20G
AA hulls
7/8 oz
16.0 gr Unique
I’ve just been using whichever 209 primer that I can find.
WAA20 wad

But I use the Claybuster wads as well without any issues.
What was your problem?

I've been told, in the past, that there is a difference between 209's....I don't know this to be true.....I use Winchester, however I also have some Remington's that I keep in backup....

After a few reloads, the ends of the hull would no longer crimp sufficiently and the crimps would begin to partially unfold.
I tried a deeper crimp which led to crushed hulls.
Next, I tried adjusting the crimp die up to allow for more space in the hull, but this caused a center hole in the crimp and shot would spill out.

The recipe posted works well using Remington STS hulls, but finding those hulls is even more challenging than finding once fired Winchester AAs. :(

The stack height or volume within the hull using Unique is greater than using Alliant 20/28, Universal Clays or Winchester Super Field so even though I like Unique better, I use those powders.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

32-20 Winchester.
100 gr poly coated bullets

Myself and two friends fired up two Lee furnaces and spent the day casting. We cast 440gr .500 S&W, 255gr .45 Colt, and 148gr .38/.357 wadcutter. We left the .45 Colt and .38 wadcutters a little soft, the .500 S&W had extra tin added, and were water quenched to harden them.
