What if the gun shop is closed?

It's not very likely the driver would give it to you. It's also not very unlikely that he wouldn't.

As far as anyone knowing, if the receiving FFL isn't expecting the package then no one would likely ever know.

I'm not sure the consequences if you get caught, but I'm sure they'd rise above the level of misdemeanor.

Lastly, as someone who is an FFL holder who does transfers, impatient people are the reason we go from offering free transfers to charging $25.

I'm not considering doing this at all. Just a lazy work day thought. I picked up a new gun today from PSA through Foxhole, legally lol. Even though there are closer guns shops, I really like them. They're very trustworthy, friendly, and hours are convenient with a less expensive transfer fee.

Let's say your sitting at the bank ten minutes before they open
and a Brink's armored truck arrives for a delivery. They realize
the bank isn't open yet but they're in a hurry so ask you to sign
for the deposit bags. Which you do, with a fake name of course.
After they drive off there is still 7 minutes before the bank opens.
Do you leave with the money immediately or wait for the bank to open?

I don't know what a nefarious person is but it would be fun to
buy everyone at Waffle House that morning their breakfast.
