* Ultralight: weighs only 2oz!
* Does NOT use iodine or iodinized resin
* Contains no chemicals (and is BPA-free), uses no batteries, has no moving parts
* Very high flow rate; no after taste (because no iodine or chlorine are used)
* Easy to clean. Can be stored and used periodically without impacting shelf life.
* Very durable

* Used worldwide in harsh conditions since 2005 (Haiti, Hurricane Katrina, etc...)
* Award winning and
internationally recognized as supplied to the UN for distribution to water stricken countries.
- Can the others make that claim?
- Do they donate their product to help others? Hell No!!!
- They are trying to market items at a high costs to the American Consumer instead of helping mankind at a very fair margin.

They all work well. Lifestraw is just a better company with a better philosophy. Cheers to clean water!!!

Fish antibiotics, Google that. There is some info here too.

I don't recommend them for normal/non shtf use, but boy are they better than nothing.

I used some last year when I had a wisdom tooth infection and couldn't get in with a dentist.

Worked wonders.

so it cleans less water. ok got it.
and you think they are the only ones that donate for charity? you think the UN got them for free?
and then you say that other companies are trying to sell at high costs (implying lifestraw doesnt make profit, or profit is bad)

well thats just a flat out lie.

look,
"the company that helped develop the use of permethrin, an insect repellent treatment for clothing that provides protection for U.S. troops and outdoor enthusiasts and was adapted for use on mosquito nets now widely used in Africa, saving millions of lives. Sawyer partnered with the World Health Organization (WHO) to conduct the underlying studies that led to the widespread use of repellent on mosquito netting. "

go look at sawyers website, as a leading competitor. They have a whole plilanthropy page. they indicate that "[they've] partnered with over 100 different organizations in more than 70 countries to provide clean water solutions." they have a page for you to sign up your own charity. they have documentation of they lives they have helped.

https://sawyer.com/international/saving-lives/stories/
https://sawyer.com/international/get-involved/
https://sawyer.com/international/get-involved/become-partner/
then they ask people to help them provide more clean water:
https://sawyer.com/international/get-involved/donate-charity/

then there are other companies, like "Just water" who is run by the mens group of a baptist church in texas.

look at their blog of how many people they have helped:

should I keep going?

And cut resistant gloves. I also keep a pry bar and bolt cutters in my truck. SHTF you never know what you may have to get into. Those 2 tools are the master lock keys for most everything.
Be careful, those tools are also considered "burglary tools" by most LEO's, and could get you locked up before the disaster even happens!

so what about my bogota entry tools, conventional pick set, and snap gun?
ETA: oh and my tubular lock pick...

SHTF and I'll be all like:

Oh I got plenty of tools in my tool box, they fit right in! Plus I never let cop's in truck for any reason. That would require a warrent.
I guess that depends on which cop pulls you over.

Same advice applies.
That could turn your good day into a bad one really quick depending on which LEO pulls you over.
