I've had rats try to get into my chicken feed container that have left very similar gnaw marks to those.

Yep...look at the tooth marks..two gnawing teeth side by side, prob several of them working together to get it done...and yes they WILL organize and work together and bring friends from the same clan.

Looks like a moose to me . We went on a family camping trip a couple of years ago and raccoons demolished our plastic containers. Nothing a well placed shot from a .22 can't fix.
