What is the point of a SBR?

Serious question here. It seems to me you're losing performance and gaining what? Before you say "It's great for maneuverability when clearing a room" keep in mind that many of the SBRs people talk about on ODT are not calibers you'd clear a room with. If they are just cool toys, nothing wrong with that, either. Just curious.

Cool toys and all of mine wear suppressors. With the suppressors attached they are the same length as a regular non SBR. My non SBRs are friggen 5 feet long with a can attached.
