What is up with folks paying a gunsmith to clean their guns?!

Yes, we know that woman exist.
Unless it's corrosive ammo I don't mess with cleaning them. If I start having malfunctions then sure, but most of them I'll just throw a little automatic transmission fluid on them and that's it.
Think people clean to much and don't lube enough.

There are a couple of cases where I'll pay someone to do a complete strip and clean of a gun, because a man's gotta know his limitations.
One of these would be my Browning BDM, which has some very nasty, fiddly bits in the action.
The other one would be if I (for some bizarre reason) wanted the decocker cage on my CZ SP01 fully cleaned.
If pushed, I think I could recall all the part numbers I've had to order to replace the bits that disappeared over my shoulder at high speed when I tried to do a cleaning myself.

Every gun store/Pawn ship I've ran/worked at, has charged $10-$30 to clean a gun.

EAZY MONEY but here we are complaining
I/we clean my own gun, mow my own grass, wash and wax our own cars, cook our own meals, clean our own house, etc. Sure takes a lot of time but saves a heap of dough and the results are usually better than paying the man.
