Gotta 1976 Ruger Liberty Blackhawk w/ 4 5/8" barrel that I love and I also have a Marlin 1894CB that's lots-o-fun!

I love me some K frame goodness but dang the model 27 has to be my favorite. The devil is in the details with the fine cut checkering on the top strap, bluing, and color case hardening on the trigger/hammer.

It's a big revolver but it's one of a kind.

Congrats on picking one up and the retro look with the old factory stocks looks right as rain.

Unfortunately my checkering is done by a CNC machine... Not nearly as cool as the old way. I used to imagine a older grey haired gentleman cutting all that by hand, but I read somewhere it was actually a really really old machine that had been there since the turn of the century that did the checkering. I d love to see that machine at work... Mine lacks the deep cuts and the point each square has (like on the older ones). It's like a CNC engraved checkered line pattern rather than sculpting the highs and lows of each square. But I still love it.
