They make them in 2 different thread pitches - 1/2x28(standard 5.56 barrel threads) and 5/8x24 (standard 308 and 300 blackout threads). Basically, if you are talking about putting it on your 5.56 AR with a barrel diameter of .750, it may or may not fit dependent on the barrel threading, not just barrel diameter.
 
Get a Jerry Michulek comp. then everyone at the range will hate you. That goes double for the guys sitting right nest to you. I will literally part the hair of the guy sitting beside you and you will have him scrambling for double ear protection. I have two of them, one a 5.56 and one a 14.5 inch 6.8 ( talking about noise and fire )LMFAO. If they don't like it then go to another range. EWWW YAAA!
