These threads still astonish me. Correct me if I'm wrong here but...
ODT is made up largely of males, gun owners, military and law enforcement veterans, hunters, outdoorsmen, preppers/survivalists, "sheepdogs", and general all around he-man types.
Almost half of you are scared of spiders and almost the other half want to murderously eradicate this HARMLESS and BENEFICIAL creature. Seriously y'all. Fear and ignorance is what the OTHER guys do. Not us. Enough said.![]()
insects mostly, occasionally a small lizard or mouse...HEY! Maybe a deermouse! Anything they can overpower and quickly subdue with venom. They are somewhat handleable but flighty. I've never had one display aggression on me when messing with them...though the one that ran down my arm and onto my chest while I was up a ladder did kinda freak me out. And again...though it strongly resembles a "wolf spider" by color and pattern, NO wolf spider gets near that big. Google "Rain Spider" kind of interesting how global some species have become since shipping cargo has become so proficient. People selling stuff on Ebay and shipping it across the world...no telling how many spider species we have introduced to different places from keeping shipping boxes in the garage till we need them. What the hell does it hunt? Deer?
