If you want a tip, buy the "butterfly" brand kitchen knives at an Asian restaurant supply place (all around Buford Highway, 85 access roads, and even a few in Decatur). A lot of places carry them, including a lot of Asian grocery stores (but not SuperH). They are about $2-$9 apiece depending on size, blazingly sharp, and well made. But they're so cheap-- just throw them away when they get dull. They last a few years, and are as sharp as anything on the market. But you don't feel bad about running them through the dishwasher.
They are what a lot of restaurants use. Made in Thailand.
