What long guns are so iconic that everyone should own one?

Lever action 30-30 or 35. Be it Marlin or Winchester. Iconically American on both counts.

Double barrel shotgun, side by side preferred as more iconic.

Bolt action rifle in a long Caliber like 30-06, 300 win mag, 270 win mag or something like that. Be it a Remington 700, ruger m77, Savage 110, or Winchester 70.

Pump action shotgun, Remington or mossberg.

A milsurp rifle such as an M1Garand, 1903, or even foreign milsurps such as Enfields and Mosin Nagants. We have Americanized and/or adopted those foreign milsurps to a degree that they are somewhat iconic in our American gun culture.

The ubiquitous “truck gun” be what it may.
