I was behind one of those snowbirds this week.In South Florida they can tell the season by how large the pile of taillight shards is at the stop lights. It means the snowbirds are in town, and they can't see over the dash, so they crash into the back of the car in front of them.
The trouble with those engineers' ideas is they require folks knowing how to drive well and paying attention all the time. Totally impractical. Why get out of a lane until it ends. If you know the lane ends 10 miles ahead, do you not get in it? I've actually heard traffic engineers complain when folks do what you want. The lane ends where it ends for a reason. The two lanes should stay full until the merge and 'zipper' together.
assholes turning on their hazard flashers while it is raining. It serves no purpose, and I have no idea why they travel in the fast lane with them on instead of pulling over.
