What should it cost to replace a water heater

40 gallon gas water heater needs replaced and I’m trying to see what average costs are. Easily accessible from the carport. South Cobb Area.

The plumbing supply houses are probably closed until Wednesday so you're probably stuck with big box store I don't know how handy you are but they're pretty easy

Go buy the heater ,and pay someone to install may save you a few bucks my last one was a grand about 5 years ago.i would think Adam is real close

If you can - get the model with the extra anode. Helps extend life of the unit.

$600 for tank, you can put it in if you can operate a wrench. Gas I used shark bites, took me about an hour and 10 minutes. Second one I installed in last 10 years. Different houses.

lady on our Next Door board was quoted 3 grand for a 40 gallon replacement, she wanted to know if that was too much

I have handy sons who can swap them out if I buy the new unit. I have one gas and one electric.
