Although from reading about it, if you like mushrooms, that looks like that is about right to harvest as huitlacoche.

I always wondered how popcorn grew...
Farmers Almanac states you should till the whole field under and soak it with diesel and used motor oil mixture. GLWC
Or take off and nuke the entire site from orbit...just to be sure.
It is fantastic in tacos and empanadas. Take it to your local Mexican restaurant; they will probably trade you dinner and drinks for it.
