What to look out for on a 1998 mustang GT

FOMOCO is what is on the modern day factory parts. Is it the same with the late 90s models?
New Ford parts are under the Motorcraft name.

Their previous parts name was Autolite, that was used into the '70s. An anti-trust suit forced them to sell this parts division.

Seems as though the FoMoCo name was used back in the 40s & 50s - until they bought Autolite in the 1960s.

Going by memory, so I could be wrong.

I would ask if they have a maintenance record. Specifically oil changes. The 4.6L was a great engine but it would sludge up pretty quick if you didn't change the oil in it regularly. At one point in about 2000 they had a recall on the intakes.

At least as a corporation they finally circled the problem
