Ruger P89 in 1997.

Same. I think it was 95-96ish though. I know I was still in college.

Sold it to a buddy. Still has it to this day.

SKS for me, I remember driving forever trying to find a store, pawn shop, ect.... looking for an AK47. Finally gave up and bought a Chinese SKS.

Ended up losing it along with all my other guns years later with a house fire. Barrels were bent from the extreme heat so couldn't salvage anything.

I remember the guy looking up surprised of my question and asked jokingly if I was planning to shoot anyone.

This was back in 2000.

In the mid-60s, as a teen (pre-4473 and you could by mail-order), I bought a .22LR/.22M revolver. As an adult, a S&W 915 (which I still have 50 some years later) and first long gun was a .30-30

A Taurus Chief's Special .38 caliber, five-shot. It was a very nice revolver with wood grips. I think I paid $180 for it back in May 1987 when I got my first GWL. I had it for 25 years. My ex wanted a firearm when we parted, and I gave her that one since she handled it so well.

I can answer that question with 2 different answers I think lol... In the early 80's,when I was 9, I spent all summer with a cousin helping Great Grandpa clear land for Great Grandma' growing garden.... Out of all the cousins/brothers, 1 cousin and me spent 4 weeks busting ass 6 days a week while the others took off fishing, swimming, playing..... That Christmas (10 by then ) we both got a special present from Nana and Paw paw.... a brand new H&R single shot 20 gauge. This was pre shut down of the OG H&R .. Kinda like buying it isn't it? I still have it..
First one I spent cash on was a used Remington 1100 12 gauge magnum from my uncle. Came with a modified choke barrel and a slug barrel.. Still have it also, with the original barrels and a ton of extras...
