I too own a Big Green Egg and a RecTec. Can't speak on the Traeger but the Rec Tech puts all the smoke you needI have an egg and a traeger. I have owned the egg about 6 years, and the traeger about 2 years. The traeger is no where near the smoker the egg is. The traeger is great for high heat whole chicken cooks. The simplicity of the traeger is a selling point. It took me well over a year to get comfortable with the egg and I still mess up sometimes. The smoke tubes help with the traeger some but not near enough to get more smoke. I am about to buy a camp chef woodwind pro. I hope it is the best of both worlds.

Well....you'd have to own one first...I do not....I can "grill" on my egg....I can smoke on my egg....why bother with anything elseso we should sue Traeger for false advertising?
That looks goodBGE can't do this.....
Cause I scored it for 200 bucks, figured I'd try one out.Well....you'd have to own one first...I do not....I can "grill" on my egg....I can smoke on my egg....why bother with anything else
Looks great. I'm the same way just bge or fogo lump when I do chicken/turkey.Spatchcock chicken and some breasts coated with my homemade rub on my BGE. Just lump charcoal, no smoke. Seriously some of the best chicken we’ve ever eaten!
Y’all’s food looks fantastic!
