You are probably aware, but just to be sure:
The lug spacing for 5 lug wheels is from the back edge of one lug to the center of the opposite lug.
For 4, 6, and 8 lug measure center to center.
If this is a commercially built trailer then 5 lug on 4.5" is very common.

Nope, not a commercialy built trailer. It's home made with a very old front axle from a car. It's for sure 4.25. Same kind of axle one would use on an old gasser drag car.
