What's the best scope out there for around $350?

Well, I have 2 nikon buckmasters BDC 4-12x50 , a vortex crossfire 4-12x50, a leupold vxii 3-9x50.........all are decent mid range scopes, but I swear, my 2 old black box, pre-meade, made in the Phillippines aspherical lens Simmons AETEC 3.8-12X44 AO Model 2104 kicks all of 'ems ASS..........IMO the (old , not master series) AETEC is clearer, better in low light, best eye relief ever, and widest field of view bar none.

I'll be a little different...find a last year model or discontinued Sightron SIII Big Sky if you can. Every bit the scope of the Nikon Monarch (exact same optics, made in the same plant), same warranty as Leupold. I picked up my 3-12x42 on close out for $300 about 2 years ago. Same scope listed for $560...and it's CLEAR...as in read mailbox numbers from 250+ yards with the magnification dialed in.

For the money its hard to beat a Nikon or Bushnell. Key thing to do when you look at scopes is to try to take them outside and look into the brush with it to see which one has the best contrast.

I ended up getting a Nikon buckmaster 3-9x40 with BDC. $209.99. He has the regular Nikon buckmaster with nikoplex for $199.99. He also had a slightly used leupold vx ii for $250, but my eyes just preferred the buckmaster.

Congrats on your Nikon Buckmaster, these are very decent scopes. I have had one on my 25-06 for years with No problems.. Ray

I forgot to mention, the scope was new. He does sell used scopes too, but he has the cheapest Nikon's I know of. Stop by County Line Guns if you're ever around Polk/Floyd county.
