Rock Island Armory compact .45.

Sounds like you already have it figured out.

Go to the range try out a few to see what you like, then do a few google searchs to see which of the ones you liked have the holsters and accessories you want.

THIS times 10, for the record I carry H&K USPc .45 V8 and a XD9sc both in a Comp-Tac holster and belt

Shield, 9mm to go easy on my arthritic wrists, N82 iwb holster because it's extremely comfortable ane disappears under a T-shirt and shorts.

Currently rocking a HK45C w/LEM and pretty dang happy with it.
No complaints thus far. Like it for carry a LOT better than the HK45.

1911 are great firearms if you like failure to eject failure to feeds and countless jams LOL hahahahahahhahaha

Highly doubt that will be an issue with that Kimber. My Ultra Carry has never had an FTF or an FTE that i can think of. It has been a fantastic weapon.

This is my carry piece. Not "manly" but enough.

I rotate three guns as my carry pieces: 1. Kahr CW9, accurate, utterly reliable, and amazingly thin and light.
2. S&W 442 in a pocket holster, disappears in most pockets and is perfectly adequate for 99% of possible situations
3. American Classic Commander, surprisingly thin and concealable but heavy as sin. The weight can be mitigated with a good belt and holster though
