Pelican works great, and you can replace any parts that break. I have over 250,000 miles on my Pelican Air case.

I have been very happy with Case Club. Just as nice as pelican but a good bit cheaper.
I have one of the Savior 2 gun soft cases. Very nice quality. Good heavy exterior, heavy stitching and heavy pockets for mags and ammo. I have another single case and both have two interior pockets for handguns and one or two long guns. Both are very nice and going on 10 years of use with no visible wear. I would think a hard case for just range day would be cumbersome and awkward. The soft cases have straps for over the shoulder and straps to carry on your back. Very convenient and comfortable for transport. You can find them on sale for under 90 bucks for a double case. They come in several lengths and colors. An absolute must in my opinion.Recently, I have just discovered Savior Equipment gun cases. Unbelievable high quality cases, accessories and range bags.

The first pic shows the two handgun pockets. The second pic shows the long gun holder with a divider between the two. The third pic shows the multiple carry straps. The front also has four pockets for mags and ammo. Mine easily holds two 18 inch barrel length AR guns.

I use soft cases mostly right now and love my Savior rifle bag. Holds two ARs with optics plus a bunch of mags and even a few pistols. Great bags.
I'm mainly looking at the hard cases for pistols to help with organization. With the soft cases things get too muddled for me and it's hard to keep track of mags. I have about a 45 minute or 1 hr drive to the range one way, so when I go, I usually plan on staying a few hours. This sometimes means lots of different guns and accessories.
