When do you become a resident of a state?

It depends on the situation. You can maintain residency, vote in, keep current registration, and buy firearms in your home state if you are temporally in another state for school, military, or work assignment. This assumes that your residence is somewhere like your parents' house.

If your Ga address is still yours/ your families your GA. if not change your license

If you have already completed this 6 Month internship in Missouri its Missouri and you need to change your license overt missouri.

The question becomes If they offer you the job after the internship are you gonna stay? or is the Plan to get back to Mississippi with the BF?

If Mississippi is the answer change over to the BF's address when/if you get a chance to go visit him

@Buckeye76 sublimebeer sublimebeer seeing as it is an internship the cops would never have to know about mississippi and only know Ga and that they are interning in Missouri for 6 months, but that also only works if the tag on their car is still GA and not Mississippi

Example 2 - 'A' maintains a home in State 'X' and a home in State 'Y'. 'A' resides in State 'X' except for weekends or the summer months of the year and in State 'Y' for the weekends or the summer months of the year. During the time that 'A' actually resides in State 'X', 'A' is a resident of State 'X', and during the time that 'A' actually resides in State 'Y', 'A' is a resident of State 'Y'.

So am I to assume this ATF statement is incorrect?

if they don't have a georgia primary residence then they are not georgia residence. in the state of georgia you are required to change id within like 30 days if you move here or change your address.

I have two states of residence. So says the ATF. Im stationed in georgia but reside in south carolina and have property in both. I can move freely with nfa weapons between the two, and buy firearms in both.

...just sayin...:becky:
