PEX is a cross linked polyethylene extruded pipe. Depending on the fitting material and weather you can cold expanded the fittings or crimped the fittings. The pipe can hold up to 180 psi. Yes, I've seen the pin leaks in copper. For whatever reason that hasn't happened here yet. Uncanny if you ask me. However everything is accessible in the event. And I'd replace with copper again.
