There was nothing in the article about their plans, other than they wanted to sail around the world. No one said they were heading straight out into the Atlantic on their way to Africa. Maybe they were going to sail done they coast to gain experience bumming around the Keys or all the way around the Gulf Coast. Everybody making assumptions and piling on with only a short news story with no real info.
They way some of you are acting, there would have never been any Europeans in North America, or early mountain men explorers expanding the US beyond the east coast.
They may be huge idiots and trying to earn double Darwin Awards, but there is not enough info to determine that.
Judging by the story I read.. They are broke and have a cell phone, with 90 bucks to their name.. Gee it doesn't sound like a 3 hour cruise now does it..
